Heather Powers of Humblebeads (www.humblebeads.blogspot.com) began this lovely swap by having a giveaway on her blog. If you commented and/or passed the word on either through your blog, Twitter or Facebook, you were given a chance to enter to win the box of beads and findings that she had put together, for only the shipping fee ($9!!). Then you were to take whichever beads you chose and replace them with items of equal or greater value than the ones you took, and blog about the beads yourself and have another giveaway, so that the next person could do the same, for the price of shipping. And what a large box it is!!!
Well OF COURSE I entered!! But, Mikki Ferrugiaro, of MFD Beadwork Originals (http://www.thebeadedcarpet.blogspot.com), won the first round. She then blogged about it, and offered the next chance to win - and OF COURSE I entered!! And, WOW, I won!!! So my chance came. I was so excited, and could not wait to get the box and see what was there...and there was a LOT!!
So now, it's MY turn, and I get to pass the box on to someone else! I am almost as excited about passing it on as I was to get it - I can't wait to see what the next person thinks about the contents!
I am enclosing a few photos so that you can see what you'll be getting for the $9.00 shipping fee:
This is a shot Heather's goodies!!
This is a shot of Mikki's goodies (but it is smaller now, I just HAD to have some of her handmade beads - I left a few, though!)
And this is my contribution. Lots of seed beads in 11, 15, 12, and even 16, some 8s, some crystal, some heist, and a few handmade polymer clay cabochons by some extremely talented ladies for those of you out there who like bead embroidery. Also some freshwater pearls and some stones.... And I may put a few beaded beads in there as well, as Mikki did, because I thought that was VERY nice of her!!
So, for any of you who would like a chance to have this stash and add to it after you make your choices, and pass it along to the next one: leave a comment and your email address on my blog, or on my Facebook page, and I will pick the winner in a week's time. (July 18th at noonish.) I will pick my winner in the timeless fashion of placing names in a hat (or something similar), shaking it up, letting my dogs nose through it, and seeing which one sticks to Teddy's nose. So it will be impartial.
(And this is Teddy, in case you don't already know him!!!!)
Let the comments begin!!!
